On 20. May 2022, Austria's largest science event took place after a two years break. From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., people from young to old were able to discover 100 research stations at nine locations in Dornbirn and Lustenau.

The mission of the “Long Night of Research” is to make science and research tangible and visible for visitors. Experiments, demonstrations, lectures as well as hands-on stations invite to discover. The main aim is to strengthen interest in technology and technical fields of study. As a global company, we are aware of the need to promote the education of future generations, because our development opportunities can only be realized with qualified specialists. Promotion in education is a top priority at Hirschmann Automotive.

A test bench was shown by two employees. There, a catapult could be used to illustrate a statistical test design (DoE=Design of Experiments).
The visitors created a mathematical model of the influencing factors related to the range of the catapult and could thus systematically find out the required setting to achieve a centrifugal range of 1.5 m by means of a few experiments.

Hirschmann Automotive was there!

The “Long Night of Research” wanted to show what research and science from Vorarlberg can do, and they did it with success! Around 3,000 visitors took part to experience scientific experiments up close and personal. The topics ranged from natural sciences to digitalization.
